Asphalt in a Bag

Works Infrastructure Reference

To whom it may concern.

The Dunedin Branch of Works Infrastructure, have been using Asphalt in a Bag Cold Patch on the new TNZ Coastal Otago Hybrid Maintenance Contract for temporary repair of our potholes and defects over the last month.

Due to tighter and more challenging specifications we were forced to find a new product that could be applied in wet conditions. We have laid the product in heavy rain, and so far have had no failures of these repairs.

Feedback from our patrolmen is that Asphalt in a Bag is a user friendly product. It is easily handled in the 20kg plastic bags, and safer to use, as there is less time on the road preparing the repair, as Asphalt in a Bag does not require being tacked out.

So far, we have used the product for both pothole repair down to base course material depth, and also small depression overlays on chip seal surfaces. We still have to try the product on asphalt Surfaces.
